Saturday Serve - Food Pantry Glow Up for West Valley Community Services

  • West Valley Community Services 10104 Vista Drive Cupertino, CA, 95014 United States (map)

We have an awesome weekend opportunity to serve one of our favorite local non-profit community partners from 10am-12noon. So come one and come all for a quick but helpful service project!

Details

West Valley Community Services wants to unite the community to fight hunger and homelessness, and they envision a community where every person has food on the table and a roof over their head. Clients shop the food pantry during the week, so the weekend is the best time to give it a deep clean!

We will be sweeping, wiping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and mopping: floors, shelves, fridges, freezers, carts, milk crates, and more. If we can clean it and make it shine, we will!

What to expect:

  • Meeting new people and/or getting to know them better while you serve alongside each other

How to prepare:

  • Wear clothes you don't mind possibly getting grubby

  • Bring layers in case you get cold easily and/or volunteer to clean out any of the freezers/refrigerator sections

  • Latex gloves are provided, but if you have your own favorite pair of work gloves, bring those. Sometimes people like to wear a mask too—we use food-safe disinfectant spray, but it can be nice to not stick your face in what you just spritzed! Mask and gloves are both optional though.

  • Bring a water bottle

  • We will meet at WVCS, located at 10104 Vista Dr, Cupertino, CA 95014

  • Park on the street—parking is free, but you might want to give yourself a couple extra minutes to walk from the car

Drop us a line if you’re planning on coming so this local community org can right-size the project for our group size: hello@wvneighborhoodchurch.org
